Tasting Notes
The 2020 vintage from Thessaly presents a bright ruby center with a bluish shimmer. The aroma is fresh and clean, with a hint of minerality. You can detect aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum, complemented by hints of eucalyptus, licorice, and even a touch of peppery spice. The taste is lively and rounded, with smooth tannins and persistent fruity notes that transition into a long, elegant finish.
Background
Deep in the heart of the Andalusian mountains, the love of a British couple for this region transformed their love for this region into a winery. The dream of the Golding family lives on in the vineyards of Thessaly, where 12.5 hectares of grapevines bask on north-facing slopes. Ideal sunlight and a cool average temperature of 17.3°C create perfect conditions for growing unique grape varieties such as Piti Verdejo and Tintilla de Rota. This winery blends Mediterranean and Atlantic influences with a touch of British charm.
Production Process
Their crianza, a classic red wine from Cadiz, combines the local Tintilla de Rota variety with international varieties such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Piti Verdejo. Aged for a year in barrels, this blend offers a taste that reflects the region's unique character.
