Background

Since 2003, Bodegas Peñafiel has been producing high-quality wines in the famous Spanish region of Ribera del Duero. This small stone winery sources grapes from its 32 hectares of vineyards in Peñafiel and Castrillo. They cultivate Tinta del País, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, which thrive in the region's exceptional climate. Bodegas Peñafiel ages its wines in French oak barrels, giving them a unique character that reflects the essence of the local terroir. With every sip, you'll experience the subtle aromas of the surrounding environment.

Production Process

Ripe Tempranillo grapes, handpicked from old vines yielding just 3500 kilograms per hectare, slumbered in small, breathable baskets. Meticulous selection, both in the vineyard and at the winery, ensured that only the finest berries made it into the stainless steel tanks. There, for eleven days, fermentation enlivened the essence of the grapes. Daily pump-overs and gentle skin maceration for 22 days further enhanced the complexity of the future wine. Finally, aging in French oak barrels, each crafted by the hands of four respected coopers, imbued the wine with drops of magic.
