Tasting Notes
A deep cherry hue catches the eye, hinting at the richness within. On the nose, a delightful balance of fruit, spice, and balsamic notes unfolds. The first sip is refreshingly silky and elegant, with a long finish that echoes well-respected Atlantic wines.
Background
Nestled in Spain's Ribera del Duero region, Bodegas Imperiales (founded 1998) has been crafting high-quality wines for over two decades. Their passion shows in every bottle, as they meticulously cultivate Tinta Fina grapes across sprawling vineyards, some boasting vines planted a century ago. By blending tradition with modern techniques, they allow the essence of the land to shine through in their minimal-intervention wines.
Production Process
From vine to bottle, Bodegas Imperiales meticulously transforms their grapes. After fermentation in French oak vats, the wine slumbers for a year in oak barrels, acquiring depth. Bottling allows it to further mature and develop a smooth character. Their secret ingredient? Grapes from ancient, low-yielding vines in Gumiel de Izán, perfectly adapted to the high-altitude terroir at 920 meters.
