Tasting Notes
This red wine boasts a deep cherry hue with a rich color. On the nose, it's a captivating blend of fruit and oak. Juicy red fruits mingle with balsamic notes, hints of vanilla and licorice, and a touch of creamy lactic character. The finish is elegant, with subtle toasty oak lingering long after the last sip.
Background
In 2006, a trio of friends founded Bodegas Hispano+Suizas, aiming to create exceptional wines in Spain's Requena-Utiel region. Their 61 hectares are a canvas where tradition and innovation coexist. Here, quality reigns supreme. Each grape is hand-picked at its peak, a promise whispered to the vine. This meticulous care results in captivating wines like Impromptu and Tantum Ergo. Through the art of blending and aging, they craft harmonious masterpieces, a symphony of aromas and flavors that will leave you wanting more.
Production Process
Bodegas Hispano+Suizas meticulously crafts its wines. They begin by selecting the finest grapes from their low-yield vineyards, hand-harvested in the cool morning. To unlock hidden flavors, the grapes take a three-day nap at -10°C before a cold soak in new American oak barrels. Fermentation follows under precise temperature control, and after twelve days, the grapes are gently pressed. Finally, they slumber for at least 20 months in a combination of American and French oak barrels, where they mature into the celebrated wines of Bodegas Hispano+Suizas.
