Tasting Notes

This wine has a striking appearance – deep ruby with a subtle purple hue at the edges. It greets you with hints of black fruit and a subtle minerality, reflecting its origins in limestone-rich soil. The wine starts off decidedly juicy and fruit-forward. It is lively and refreshing, light-bodied, and it balances delicate hints of young strawberry with richer notes of blackberry and other dark fruits.

Background

Mexican friends Hugo Del Pozzo and Vicente Pliego pursued their wine dream with determination. Seven years ago, they arrived in Spain's renowned Ribera del Duero region, celebrated for its exceptional red wines. Acquiring 40 hectares of Tempranillo vines, they caught the attention of esteemed winemaker Isaac Fernández. Together, they are dedicated to highlighting the concept of "terroir," the influence of place on wine. Situated at an elevation of 900 meters, their vineyards experience significant daily temperature variations, allowing the grapes to develop remarkable depth and complexity evident in their final product.

Production process

Instead of fermenting everything together, they treat each vineyard plot separately. The wines then go into stainless steel tanks for two types of fermentation: alcoholic, where the yeast turns sugar into alcohol, and malolactic, which softens the wine's acidity.
