Background

In the 1990s, Porrera witnessed a unique collaboration. Singer Lluís Llach and notary Enric Costa joined forces to create Celler Vall Llach. Their focus? Uncompromising quality. They meticulously cultivate ancient vines, some Cariñena exceeding 90 years old, resulting in exceptional musts. This dedication continues throughout the winemaking process, seamlessly blending tradition with modern technology. Even the aging cellar boasts history: Cal Valdrich, a restored mansion, provides the perfect environment for the wines to mature in elegance.

Production Process

This winery pulls personality from its young vines, all under 30 years old. Planted across a patchwork of slopes and elevations, these diverse vineyards cultivate a mix of grapes – Carignan, Garnacha, even Cabernet and Syrah. And the "Rose of the Winds" (Rosa dels Vents) bathes the whole landscape in sunshine. After the grapes are harvested, fermented and macerated, they spend 14 months maturing in French oak barrels, adding another layer of complexity to the final wine.
